Bach Vespers at St Anne's Lutheran Church

06 Oct 2016

St. Anne's Lutheran Church invite you to a Bach Vespers on 23 October 2016 at 6.30pm.

The J.S. Bach cantata BWV 89 for the 22nd Sunday after Trinity, Was soll ich aus dir machen, Ephraim? (How shall I give thee up, Ephraim?) and other baroque music will be performed as in Bach’s time in a service of Lutheran Vespers.

Preacher will be Rt Rev William Kenney, Auxiliary Bishop of Birmingham in the Roman Catholic Church. Through a Papal appointment in 2013, he is a co-chair of the international conversations between the Lutheran and Catholic Churches: a dialogue which is a key theme of the Reformation Quincentenary.

Music will be performed by the City Bach Collective.

And you are welcome to stay for a cup of coffee after the service!
